Being productive in serving the Lord (Part 1)

5For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 1:5-8

Having faith in God isn’t enough for us being christian. But it is just the start of who we really are to become in His own plan in our lives. It is just the trigger to change our views in this world. It is just the trigger to transform our values and ways of living in this world. That our Lord, Jesus Christ didn’t save us just to stay lying on our beds of deceitful world but, He called us to get out of there and come to Him for this very reason… to give us life, a life that is abundant and full of blessings.

Love one another

We want to love and to be loved in the same way we do and I think this is very natural to us being His (referring to God) own children. We shouldn’t be puzzled with this because our very Lord, Jesus Christ instructed this act to us.

34A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

John 13:34-35

So I pray to you Lord, Jesus Christ that you will give me a loving heart. A heart that can give love, a love that is coming from you. I know you are still molding me so I pray that you’ll bless me with your love so that when I am full with it I can share it with others. For the glory and praise of the Father. ^_^

Lie down and sleep

27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

John 14 27

I always close my eyes and smile every time I think of God. An unexplainable peace that embraces my heart. A joy that comes within. A state where I can feel a different strength. More subtle than anything else.

Be still

39He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

Mark 4:39

I love rainy season because of the breeze it is giving us every time it rains. Even the wind blows hard… I can still smile, very welcoming for me. For I know there will be more rains, even storms, that will pass in my life and I will be there to face them… welcome them. :)

Rejoice in the Lord always

4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

Philippians 4:4

Philippians is one of my favorite epistles of Paul in the bible. If you are feeling down or having a feeling of trouble in your heart and mind, this book is what you need. It has only 4 chapters. It’s very optimistic, encouraging, soul up-lifter, and a joyful book that you will surely love to read in times of troubles. You can reflect on it and claim the words to our Lord, Jesus Christ!
