Lie down and sleep

27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

John 14 27

I always close my eyes and smile every time I think of God. An unexplainable peace that embraces my heart. A joy that comes within. A state where I can feel a different strength. More subtle than anything else.

Everyday we look for peace. We fight for peace (I am not so sure if fighting is really for peace, ironic, ‘eh). We dream of peace. We strive for peace. We pray for peace. And yes, it is a good thing to find peace in every way and in each moment in our lives; whether in our home, office, church, and social areas of our lives. Even in our own mind we struggle for peace because there in our mind is where the real battle begin. Everything starts in our mind; from conceiving to reacting in the world inside and outside us.

If we are in constant search for peace then, it only means that the peace is not with us (or within us). So where we could find it? Two thousand years ago our Lord, Jesus Christ joyfully and sincerely offered it to us because He knows that there are so many men yearning for it. There are many sufferings, troubles, wars, pains, and conflicts that rob the peace from us in where it should be. But praise be to our God for He knows this so well that is why He sent forth His Son here on earth to save us and give us the everlasting peace that we being His children should have.

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

John 16:33
