4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
Philippians 4:4
Philippians is one of my favorite epistles of Paul in the bible. If you are feeling down or having a feeling of trouble in your heart and mind, this book is what you need. It has only 4 chapters. It’s very optimistic, encouraging, soul up-lifter, and a joyful book that you will surely love to read in times of troubles. You can reflect on it and claim the words to our Lord, Jesus Christ!

There was a small child who wants to lift a big stone. He was so small and so fragile child. Obviously he cannot lift a big stone that is much higher/bigger than him. But he really wanted to lift it and bring it home. From afar, his father saw this and observed his son doing his best to lift it up. He saw that his son even fell on his back trying to lift the stone. But the stone didn’t move even a bit. The father smiled and came to him. He lifted up the big stone so easily and his son smiled seeing his father helping him. “Didn’t I tell you to ask me for help whenever you face any kinds of troubles?”, he asked his son.
53Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?

Thursday last week. I am so excited to get home after office to pack my things and shirts. I am going to Ely’s place at Marikina. We planned to jog at Sports Center, play basketball, and walk at the beautiful river side of Marikina. It’s already 9pm when I left home. I didn’t exactly know how to get there though I asked Ely for instructions a week before. I texted him again for directions while I am on my way to Boni EDSA. He said that I should ride a bus heading to Cubao and from there I can take a jeepney ride routing to Marikina Bayan. After crossing the Marikina Bridge I should be dropped at 7Eleven store near it. Directions were clear. I am confident now going there. I was thinking if I should take MRT or a bus but opted to take the latter to follow the protocol.

Some believers thought that when they accepted the good news and became Christian, there will be no problems and trials that will come to their lives. They are very wrong! In fact the bible is very brutal on reminding us of the things and events that will come. And our Lord Jesus himself have experienced a lot of tragedy in His life and was called a “Man of Sorrows” during His lifetime here on earth. So we, being little Christs or Christians, are entitled to carry a lot of burdens, problems, trials, and tragedies in our way to the Christian living.

2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
James 1:2-5
The time of this text has come into my life. To take the challenge. To run and finish the race despite of all the obstacles along the way.
